The dogs of this breed normally do okay in an apartment. However, they should receive plenty of chances to be outdoors. A small yard is sufficient to meet their daily activity requirements. A daily walk is essential. When walking this breed, always use a lead. It is a challenge to train these dogs. Scent hounds, they are easily distracted. Some breeders and owners note that they are quite stubborn. Only firm and consistent methods are able to make these dogs obedient and well behaved.
